Original Fretboard Design #3

This is my third attempt at an original fretboard design. I drew the design, cut, and inlaid, all pieces for this 24.9" scale length fretboard. The recipient I'd a singer/songwriter in Maine, who wrote a song about a blackberry bush. So. The theme is blackberry vine.

The berries, made from black MOP, serve as fretmarkers. The materials are a combo of:

1. Black MOP
2. White MOP
3. Abalone
4. Epoxy resin
5. Copper

I think it came out pretty good. If I could change 1 thing, it would be the bee antenna and legs. I had a problem curving them.

I still need to bevel the frets, level, and dress, but you get the idea.

This came out amazing. It's really beautiful. Thanks for sharing all of your thoughts and process from drawing to cutting to inlay.

Here's a temporary assembly of how it will look on the guitar. I think it's going to be outstanding.

Thank you Kevin.

I made this fretboard for MaineGeezer, who is building a guitar for a singer/songwriter in Maine.

Well then. I saw that post with the guitar pic.
A lucky guy. I will never attempt inlays that difficult. I dont have the patience.

I'm in the final stages of shaping the neck now. As usual, I'm terrified of:
1. taking off too much;
2. not taking off enough

I think I'll let it sit for a day or to to give my brain a chance to recalibrate itself.

Best thing you can do. Better to take your time and think it through. But I know you. You'll do a stellar job.
