Claro Walnut OM #16

Post by Kevin Sjostrand »

So this guitar is now done. It turned out pretty good. Not perfect but I'm happy with it.
It sounds good long sustain medium action
I still struggle some with the finishing. Seems there is always something hmmmm.
I may rub out a couple areas that I now see I missed when buffing, near the neck join. I think if I do anything I'll do it by hand.

So this one is an OM 14 Fret 1 3/4" nut standard bracing except for an extension off the inside neck block to accommodate screwing down the fretboard extension.
Claro Walnut back and sides
Englemann spruce top
Spruce bracing
Indian rosewood binding, fret board, bridge and end wedge
Maple side purfling line
D45 style back strip
Abalone top purfling and rosette, fretboard markers
Bound fretboard using same wood as the fretboard
Ebony headstock plate
Bone nut and saddle
Rosewood Bridge pins
Gold frets
Gold Taylor tuners
JJB Prestige 3 transducer passive pickup
Nitro lacquer sprayed finish

This one is for my 18 year old granddaughter who starts college in August.
