I've finished my fifth. This one is a gift for my sister. I figured I'd post some pics.

Re-sawing the purpleheart and thickness sanding it was a royal pain. If you don't go in tiny increments on the drum sander (80 grit) it darkens the wood. Once it was thicknessed it bent easily though. The color is interesting and it sounds nice.

Do you have pictures of any changes in color in the wood as you went through the steps? Very nice looking instrument - great detailing

Sorry, didn't get any audio before I gave it to my sister. I didn't take many pics during the build of this one either, just a couple of the braced top. The purpleheart started out just a little more purple than you see it. It turns brown when freshly cut or sanded but turns that pinkish purple within days and the finish really brings the color out.
