Finally got my next guitar back from the finisher - this is #4. I never
had tendonitis before I French Polished a guitar about
1-1/2 years ago, and it got worse with subsequent guitars,
so I decided to pay a pro to spray this with nitrocellulose
lacquer. Looks very nice.

It really sounds very bright with a lot of volume. Right
now its sounds about what I was hoping forwith the Osage
Orange. Still adjusting the action, but I
got it pretty close the first time.

Turned out very nice Ed. I have a set of Osage waiting in the wings. The back plates are warped a bit along the joining edge, but they are pretty thick so I'm hoping I can flatten them sufficiently.

Our local tall ship, the Sultana, was built with OO in the entire frame. All of the curved ribs were selected from curved pieces and it was very interesting to work with. Plus at the end of a day of saws, chisels, adzes and planes, (and assorted power equipment) the whole shed floor was covered in bright yellow shavings. They alway toned down right away, but I got hooked seeing that.

I found only a few OO guitars on the internet, but they were knockouts. I chose simple detailing to let the wood speak for itself - both visually and sonically. I love the sound of this guitar - very bright high ends, but the bass is still there. Surprising volume. I will have to wait for the string s to not-be-new and give it some time to settle in, but so far so good.

I could not find any OO locally that was straight grained and wide enough. I ordered from a luthier in Wisconsin. I would recommend this wood wholeheartedly.

I just joined a 40 member local ukelele club and immediately thought "OO Uke"!
