Does anyone have photos of the neck block installation on a Martin Dreadnought kit? It is very different from my previous StewMac kit. Instructions are a bit lacking.

What is the difference? Are you talking about a dovetail joint vs the bolt on for the stewmac, or are you referring to the extension in the front.

In any case the procedure should be the same. For the neck block I glue it indexed to the top side. I center it, center of bock (mortise) on center of rims. I leave it just a touch proud using index cards as shims.

I was a little unclear. I guess I am looking for the relationship between the extension on the neck block and the top. Is the extension supposed to be in contact with the top. My guess is that it would kill the sound if it was in contact with the top. I guess I'm not understanding the purpose of the extension.

Well if you install it correctly the extension will end up glued to the top. If you do not like it, cut it off; no problem. But there is not a lot of sound coming from that part of the top.

the extension is actually nothing more than a clamping cawl for the production floor. I remove them personally
