It is done. I made this guitar for a 23 year old niece of mine who asked me for a guitar. It has a sinker redwood top, bubinga back and sides plus rosette and head stock veneer. It is styled after a Martin 00 guitar. Forward X brace. I made mine a little lite on the braces but I did follow a 00 Martin bracing pattern.

John,

I't makes me proud to see how well you are advancing as a builder. The guitar looks great. You did a lot of nice things on this guitar. I'm not yet to the place where I build my own neck. Kudos for this neck! The only area that looks maybe a little different is the transition from the neck to the headstock but that may just be the camera angle. Again, very impressive that you built this neck from scratch and have refined it to the degree you have.

Darryl, I did have to "finesse" the neck to headstock in the back as I went a little too far toward the neck when planing the thickness of the head stock. In real it looks OK and not much different than what I see on necks with no volutes. My "big" deliberate contribution to the neck design was to have the heel cap follow the neck angle rather than the back angle\radius.

Thanks for your comments

john

And to clarify.......I'm proud of you for having developed so much. I just re-read my post and it sounded like I had something to do with......which of course I did not. Sure nice to see folks developing their skills.

No problem with your post. We have been making guitars together on this forum for awhile now. I enjoy the support, ideas and feedback.

John,
You already know what I think of this guitar.
Keep making them, they just keep getting better.
