Hey guys, thought I'd show you my very first build from scratch, a vintage styled L-0. I used the Grellier plans and a real original 1942 for reference. Its mahogany sides and back, sitka top, and finished with Target EM6000 waterbased lacquer. I've already started build another L-0 which will be flamed maple sides and back (I'll share pics of that one when I finish it too).

Thanks for the comments guys! This IS my first scratch build, I'm not trying to trick anyone! ha ha My first build was from a kit. This guitar does have a number of flaws, although I was able to hide most of them after finishing. The finish turned out realy well except for one minor run on the top and the odd little tiny crater in the finish which look almost like they were air bubbles under the finish that opened up during levelling and buffing. But it turned out better then my kit guitar so as long as I keep improving with each one, I'm happy!

It was cool to play mine and the original side by side. It sounds similar but with a few differences. The original has a bit more crisp tone with more clarity. Mine is a bit more bassy and mellow. Mine is also a bit louder then the original.

And your flaws? Great! Room for improvement. And it makes me feel good. It makes me feel I'm not the only one!
