This isn't really a kit build (although I did use a roughly pre-carved neck), but a lot of the methods that were used I learned through this forum, so I think it's appropriate to post it here. This was built using the OLF OM plans. I built it as a gift for my brother, who has shared with me a lifelong interest in playing the guitar. He just had a knee replaced this week, so he should have ample time to break it in!
The details:
EIR back and sides
Carpathian spruce top
High curl koa bindings
B-W-bloodwood-W-B purflings
B-W-B side purflings
Maple burl rosette, heel cap, tail wedge, and headplate
Rosewood fingerboard, bridge, and bridge pins
Honduran mahogany neck
Gotoh SS tuners
Finished with EM6000 over a Zpoxy fill
Thanks for looking.
John

Just looking through your pictures again (I hope you don't mind) and I am noticing the killer silking on that top. Would you mind sharing with us where you got it from?

That is one gorgeous guitar. I built an om with the koa bindings, and need to get back to it...I loved it far more than I thought I would. The burl is indeed fabulous, as is the rest of the guitar. Well done. Can we hear it?

Thanks for all the nice comments, guys.
David: The Carpathian spruce top was from LMI, as was the rest of the structural wood. The maple burl was from a bowl blank (I also like to turn) that I bought at Woodcraft.
Ken: I'll try and post a MP3 after I get it properly set up. Right now the action could be measured in cm!
My next task is to get it out to him (in California) intact. I would appreciate any information from those of you who have shipped one. Maybe I'll just have to fly it out myself. Better yet, use it as an enticement for a visit after he's up and around.
