Haven't kept good track of my builds. One of my latest. I built this guitar from Narra for the back, sides and neck from a beam used for dunnage in a merchant ship supplying stuff to Asia during the Vietnam War. Top is 40 year old quartersawn redwood from a bottom board of my old hottub. Rosette is Yew burl with a natural edge. All else is Manzanita from my yard. JJB transducer pickup. 12 frets to the body with a 24.5" scale.

Nicely done! And great provenance - so - how does it sound? I have only made a tenor uke with narra, and it was redder I think (gone now). I'm also curious if the rosette is inlaid, or sits proud? Bruce W.

Very nice Carl. Is that a custom shape or is it a Martin type model?

I've never played a guitar that small.

What a little jewel, very nice work! I love your use of wood from nearby. You should be proud, great job!

Thanks guys.
Bruce, the rosette is proud of the top but has a Manzanita soundhole ring of binding that is the full thickness of the two. Has a bright and rich sound with great sustain.
Kevin, the plan I use is a LMII plan for parlor guitar drawn by Antes, but the bracing has been thinned to 1/4". Lower bout is 12 1/4", waist 7", upper bout 9 1/4", body length 18 1/2", total length 37".
This is the fourth of five I've built so far. I've got another in the works made from a exceptionally wide log of Manzanita that my neighbor gave me. I'm not much of a traditionalist I guess.
