Banjo Tuners on a Guitar

Years ago I had a chance to examine a 1931 Martin OM-18. It had banjo tuners, which I guess was standard at that time. I always liked the look, so I decided to use banjo tuners on one of my OM-18 builds.
The cat approves.

Jackson Cunningham builds a guitar for the Handmade Music School to raffle as a fundraiser every year.
This year's build has banjo tuners. Some pics etc here

Great pic of the cat. I think he's pretty skeptical of those tuners and is wondering if you are using gut strings. I really like the look and way it came out. I'm inspired to try this, perhaps on my next build which is is in the daydreaming phase so far.
