Beautiful sound, Herman, and there was plenty of deep bass response without the boominess. If I could play half as well as that, I would be playing out....aint happineing. I also still need to learn to record better than I have....Nice job all the way around....I still find soundports to be a huge benefit to the player, and to the audience in a small environment....especially in the first 20 feet from the guitar. I got a chance to let my wife's uncle play the Mango....he's darned good. Started a blues lick and almost dropped it, he couldn't believe the sound from the port. Almost sold it right then and there.

So, my big brother was playing guitar and I figured I'd try it too.

Thanks guys,

Sorry John, I have no pic of that. The system that was used is a L.R.Baggs Element Active System. http://www.lrbaggs.com/EAS.htm#overview
In the past I tried Highlander and Fishman undersaddle pickups, but this Baggs-thing sounds the most natural and less piezo to me.

It is a bit more work to install because it has to be install beyond the saddle surface, so there needs to be a hole drilled down at the end of the saddleslot. No big deal, but be careful not to drill through the bracing.

Recording a sample gets really better with some investments. Earlier I just put a dynamic mike into the computer. No great sound and lots of noise.
In the past few years I bought me:
AER Alpha amp http://www.aer-amps.com/index.php?optio ... 61&lang=en
Rode M3 condensor mike http://www.rodemic.com/mics/m3
Roland R-05 portable digital recorder http://www.rolandus.com/products/produc ... uctId=1077

I'm happy with these. No moment of regret so far.
