I've noticed that, whether I am using waterbased lacquer, wipe-on poly, or tru-oil, the finish stays soft enough fora couple weeks after buffing that I can scuff it with a fingernail....pics are even harder. A couple months, if not a year later, fingernails slide over it like glass. Just be careful with your baby the first few months.
