My 1st acoustic, OM Kit from Woodstax

Post by rdold »

Just wanted to circle back with a picture of the completed kit. This is my 4th build, but first acoustic. The kit was an OM from Woodstax (Stewmac) in flamed walnut with red cedar top. I added herringbone to the top to go along with flamed maple binding top and back. It plays well.

I guess I need to save a photo of the back, but here is one from the development process that gives you the flavor. The accent wood is black/white ebony from some turning stock that I had in the shop. I also used this as a heel cap.

Anyway, thanks for the help and inspiration provided on the site. My next project will be a kit from Mr. Hall, another OM in sinker mahogany with a moon spruce top and bloodwood binding. It should be a blast!
