Figured Chechen/Bearckaw Sitka OM
This girl will be traveling to Memphis, TN on Wednesday. I still have to make and install the pickguard. I thought I'd show her off without it. It's too bad the bearclaw doesn't show up well in photos, because the top is stunning.
She has a soundport, which I decided to make decorative.
*Please ignore the floor. No, I don't have a water leak. We're getting ready to epoxy the entire basement floor. My husband scrubbed the adjacent area, which left what you're seeing. When I'm able to vacate for a couple of days, this shop area will be done! I can't wait!
SPECS:
OM with 5/16" forward shifted bracing.
24.9" scale length
14 fret free of the body
Herringbone rosette and purfling
Chechen back/sides
Sitka spruce top w/bearclaw figure
Honduran mahogany neck
Ebony fretboard and bridge
Ebony headplate and backplate overlays
Buffalo bone nut/saddle
Camel bone with blood jasper dot pins
Schaller vintage style, open gear Grandtune tuners & K Mini pickup
French polished shellac finish on the box
Hand rub poly (satin) neck

Very nice. I like the simple headstock design.

Immaculate, Diane - well done. I have an OM almost ready for finishing but you've raised the bar!

Thank you. And yes, I got the pg made and installed. It's on its way to Memphis.
