Sinker Western Red Cedar Billet

I'm fairly stoked! I just received my first ever billet to cut into tops. It is 3 x 8.75 x 25.125. I'll probably, no make that definitely, need some cutting advice. I have installed a 6" riser on my bandsaw and purchased a really nice "Wood Slicer" blade for re-sawing but would appreciate advice on setting up the bandsaw properly for this kind of cut and what thickness do you think I should use. I want to get maximum yield but don't want to skimp.

As you can see this has really nice lines running through it and I think they will be striking tops, hope they'll sound as good as they'll look.

it can be fun . be careful when cutting. Sometimes to try and get the most you can end up with nadda. I like to surface one face , cut and surface so that you can get as much yeild as possible.

+1, and getting the drift set just right so the piece rides along the fence well.

Yes drift was one of my main concerns. I read a good book chapter on it and got a good video, then earlier tonight I tried it on my saw and the fence was already dead on. Now I'm not sure if I did when I first got my saw or was lucky. Anyway. I'll be doing it again because I need to get a re-saw fence. Probably Grizzly to match my saw.
