John- Thanks. I'll digest that article. I see they talk about buffing wheel fires. That's pretty crazy! They forgot to mention how nice buffing makes your nails look when doing nuts and saddles! Do you know the recommended FPM for buffing lacquer? I use 16" wheels and I have a 3 step pulley on the arbor, which I change speed on often, trying to figure out what is best.Thanks, Bob

I use the same wheels
I am running a 1 1/2 in pully on a shop fox arbor. I use the large 3 in pully so
I am in the speed about 7 to 800 rpm that puts me about 2100 ft/p/min
