Stained guitar back and have some "rough spots"

Hi
I am getting ready to finish an acoustic guitar (Sitka top, Mohagany back and sides) with True-Oil. I sanded the guitar back and sides using 220 then 320 grit. I wiped the guitar down with a damp cloth. I then stained the back and sides using colortone stain. It looks good so far but there are a few "rough spots" that you can feel. I dont know if they are where the grain raised because you cant see it-only feel it. I tried to smooth them out with gray scotchbrite but it did not get them all out.

I have not sealed or filled the pores yet. I think I need to seal it (want to use Shellac)and then pore fill with Aquacoat.

Has anyone experienced this before and can I continue with my plan and not need to start over?

Thanks for your help

-Pat

The magic words: 'damp cloth'. I'd sand it again and use a commercial sold-for-the-purpose tack rag, not anything with water in it.

Just gently knock the grain down, clean with Naphtha, and onward ya go!

I would fill seal then light 320 scuff sand and start building. you should be fine
sometime you get soft spots and you will see just keep going once you get past the seal fill and seal these areas start to fill and you can get them flat
