Vinyl sealer for smooth grain woods
A quick question for finishing experts: I'm spraying vinyl sealer (pre-nitro) on guitars and ukes following John Hall's "Finishing 101" thread. Some of the projects need pore filling, so I will do two coats of sealer before filling, and two after. On wood that does not need filling (in my case, yellow cedar, redcedar, and western cherry) are the two initial coats adequate?

I would think so. On spruce I only apply one coat of vinyl then scuff with 400 grit then spray the nitro. If two coats provide some piece of mind then go for it!
