Cheap UV Lamp (DIY) alternative?

Hey Mates, Anyone know of where to purchase a REASONABLY 
priced alternative to the 3 to 5K commercial gouges, 
"SPDI"?? Prefer DIY 
if possible. Read a thread, (elsewhere) that recommended using parts from a "Transilluminator" 
, which I believe is what Hospitals use to find difficult Veins??
