Hi Guys,
I want to finish a guitar with the same type of finish as my Seagull S6. It is not a high gloss finish but really smooth and my hand moves so easily up and down the neck. The rest of the body can be glossy, but I really want the same finish on the neck. Is there a thread that references a similar finish. I did a couple of searches using seagull and finish but did not find anything. BTW, I'm new here.

Try the term satin finish and you'll get more results. The process is basically the same a s a gloss finish except it is level sanded and has two flow coats of satin finish put on instead of being buffed.

Excellent and thanks! I also tried matte finish but sometimes my brain goes into idiot mode and it never occurred to me to search for satin. Thanks again.

Is there a recommended book or DVD with good info on satin finishes?
