Satin finishes and body oil

Is there any way to remove body oil from a satin finish? I have a satin finish guitar that has a shiny spot which will probably get larger each time I play. Can it be fixed? If not, would a 0000 steel wool rub do anything to bring closer the shine of the body oil and the dull of the finish?

Naphtha will safety remove dirt and body oils. However, in my experience, the acids in body oils usually dull finishes. The area may be glossy because your rubbing the finish. If it's still shiny after using the naptha, and you want a more uniform appearance, I would rub out the rest of the guitar.

I use 0000 steel wool or a scotch pad to dull the finish but beware it will eventually go through. Often the Martin satin finish will gloss up just from use.

I'm aware how the shiny spots got there. As I stated in my question, I want to eliminate the body oil. Will steel wool remove the body oil?
To be perfectly clear, I'm not trying to dull a gloss finish. I'm trying to remove body oil in order to get back to the satin finish.

As stated above, naptha will remove the body oils safely.
