Darren,
The guitar looks great what kind of wood is the top? I ended up with 4 coats of Z-poxy before I was happy with it. Over all I really like the product.

Darren,
The color in that Koa is going to really pop. Lookin good!
I like the epoxy for pore filling.

Thanks Kevin. When the second coat was on and wet it really looked amazing.
John, the entire body is Koa trimmed in EIR.

So far I'm very very happy with Behlens Rock Hard Table Varnish over zpoxy. This is one coat 24 hours after application with no leveling:

Where's the big grin emoticons when you need em?
On another note, man I wish I had a better camera. I'll try not to post anymore blurry photos until there are strings on!

Very nice, Darren! Don't you just love this stage when the colors and grain of the wood start to pop!

Darren,
I've wondered how that Rock Hard Table Varnish would be for a guitar finish. How many coats do you plan putting on?
Are you brushing it, or spraying?

Kevin, I have a really thin mixture and am applying with a foam brush. The schedule I'm using says 5-8 coats but if 1 looks this good... We'll see.
I basically got the surface barely wet, and by the time the whole back was wetted, I was able to hit any drips with a side to side motion, and then pull long strokes top to bottom. Any tiny brush marks leveled out on their own.
The recipe I'm using is 30% reducer, 65% varnish and 5% acetone. Smells Great ;)
