Nitro Laquer over metal?

I'm going to use copper and brass as a heel plate. Will Watco nitro stick to metal or should I mask it off and polish separately.

It should stick just fine. Lacquer was actually developed as an automotive finish in the 1920's.

I believe it was common to lacquer brass at one time to keep it from tarnishing. Should be good to go.

Good, that should help the assembly look more contiguous.
