Mohawk Perfect Blend aerosol
Has anyone here used this stuff? Comments? Experiences?

I believe Mohawk and Behlens Jet Spray are the same product.

Brian,
What are you using for a pore filler with this? What is your general schedule?
I'm going to be building some prototype guitars (I hope) and need an inexpensive/quick finish option for them.

Watco Nitro Lacquer from the Rustoleum folks is now my "go to" aerosol, it covers great, drys a little harder than Deft (it seems) and levels and polishes out well. I use "Hood" Clear quick drying Lacquer based pore filler. $.02

I use mowhawk and Jet as that is at Grizzly and I can go there as it is about an hour away from me and that saves me the hazmat fees. I also stopped using shellac as a sealer on lacquer years ago. All shellac sealed guitars craze cracked. The vinyl sealed ones are fine .

Ditto John on the shellac! Plus it tints, and that tint can have different values if not sanded evenly --- over time that turns to shading and can end up looking like crap several years down the road. I much prefer modern finishes, but in comparison to the large finishing shops I'm in the dark ages - UV cure polyester is now the finish of choice. Pre-cat nitro Lacquer is a close second --- vinyl sealer is also the way to go. I know! I know! -- French polish is all shellac -- that too will tint and shade, not to mention chip and craze -- but it is easy to fix.
