best french polish instructions?

I've been researching french polishing techniques for the past few weeks and find so many different procedures. I have Jeff Jewitt's book and am leaning in that direction except it's a little vague. I also reach the french polish technique at the milburnguitars website which I think fills in the blanks. My question is: Should I use BLO first to "pop the grain" as Jewitt suggests? I know that when I apply the first coat of oil/varnish finish to my furniture or hard body guitars it does pop the grain and you get that wow factor that I'm looking for. Not sure if I need to do this with a french polish.

I am planning on French Polishing as well - I am going to use Robbie O'Brien's DVD as my guide.

I've tried a half dozen different sets of instructions for french polishing and I've settled on Robbie O'Brien's method. Clearest and simplest of them all.
Buy the FP section of lessons from his classic guitar building course. It's almost a real time demo of french polishing.
Here is my last result. French polished the body and TruOil on the neck.

I was looking at getting the DVD. Is it complete in instructing you a out the process from beginning to end?

I followed Robbies FP videos as well, except that I pore fill first with zpoxy. His videos are very detailed for all of the steps on real guitars including tricky areas you may run into. I followed his video on the 4th guitar I french polished and still found it very use full.
