Filling is the foundation to the final finish. I cannot stress this enough that technique is as important as the chosen product . I like to stain first then seal . I do use Pore O Paq and gave up on everything else . With filling I like to stain , seal , fill , seal then hit the with 8 coats of finish. With Nitro I allow a 2 week cure period. It is not uncommon to see sinks as the filler shrinks but once you level sand you should see most of that disappear . If you do have a few sinks you can drop fill . Then I shoot 3 more coats and this is my final finish layer.
When all is done I want to have about .006 to .008 left on the guitar. I cannot stress enough that finish will take as long if not longer than the actual building .
