"Simple" finish

Post by Endocamp »

I've been trying to come up with a game plan to finish my first kit build. Please anyone correct me if I'm wrong, but can I use Tru-oil for everything (after the sides and neck have been pore filled)?

Also- I have a mother-of-pearl inlay on the pegboard and was wondering if I have to do something special for that prior to finishing.

I bought the water based "Enduro" and also some Renaissance Wax a few weeks back, thinking I'd have to use either or both of those as well.

I don't want to over-simplify, but I don't want to make it so complicated that I'm screwing it up.

The MOP should not need any special attention. Be careful what pore fill you use under the tru oil, it is not compatible with all methods. For simple, how about a French polish? Pore fill with pumice and its a one step process basically.
You never know what you are capable of until you actually try....
