sunburst neck questions...

Post by darren »

I'm getting set to spray a burst on a neck - suddenly I realize this is going to cover up a few side position mark dots. And a google image search isn't showing me what I what to know.

Is it standard practice to scrape the fretboard edges before spraying the clear coats? Fretboard is unbound granadillo on a hog neck, white side dots...

Mask off the neck and hit a few coats of clear on the side of the fretboard then lift the tape. Allow to cure , mask that off and then do your burst. The little ridge of finish will let things balance. Once done with the burst lift tape and finish the clear .
