D21 disaster in the shop

Take my advice , a guitar is not a chair and this is what happens when you try and make it one. I had pulled the top out of the body and here is the project. I am to replace the top and restore the guitar.
The top suffered a few cracks in the finish and the back is separated from the kerfing failure. The neck is still straight. The cross grain fracture at the tail may be interesting to hide. As I proceed I will document the repair. I hope you all enjoy these projects that enter the shop. I like to pass this info on and you can see the way I address the repairs.
keep an eye open

Did someone sit on the guitar in its case? That should be a wild repair.

As always is the case. Is that a Brazilian D-21? That's gonna take some fixing John. New top or patch...?

No one knew what happened? Someone knows what happened but they ain't saying! You don't CRUSH a friggin' guitar and not know what happened. Looks like somebody was playing Pete Townsend (The Who) on that guitar.
