Filler Options for Neck Repair

Post by PSmill »

Hi, In a moment of....inattention....I made the depth setting cut on this neck too low at the 12th fret. I've started to shape it, but it may be a bit too deep to get rid of it during shaping, and may require a patch or filler. I thought about cutting the recess square and inlaying a patch before I started shaping, but went this route. Probably 1/16" deep recess will remain. The original cut was with a round rasp, so it's like a half round recess. I would love to patch it or fill it and make it invisible :) Looking for ideas and options. Thanks.

That should probably be a new forum thread lol. Yes good point. The time I drilled through the neck block and then also all the way though the neck heel, which afterwards was marketed as my new and improved perforated neck design. It lets the guitar breathe better. :)
