Patching an over-sanded purfling

I was having issues aligning a neck, and was sanding the top where the neck would join to improve the angle. I think a bit of the herringbone purfling must have crept up in the gluing process, because I sanded through it, both under the fretboard extension, and a bit beyond too. I had to patch it, so used a hobby knife and a 1/16" chisel to remove a piece from the white centre seam to the holly binding. I cut and sanded a piece of herringbone scrap to fit (fiddly) and glued it in. When I pared it down later, flush, it turned out better than I hoped (for a change). Now I just have to remember not to do any more sanding in that area! Bruce W.
