the pics should be self explanatory . IN a nutshell
first I pulled 2 frets 14 for the heel cheeks and 15 for the tenon. this has a wide neck and is glued to the side.
Extension was heated to loosen from the top.
You can see how the top is pushing into the rosette
this is the prep for steam stage

Re: 12 string guild with a loose neck block.
now I can steam this out. I will bounce from hole to hole cheek hole tenon hole etc. About 1 min per hole
then as the glue loosens the neck will release. I also used some lacquer thinner to soften the finish along the heel.
The process took about 20 min.
BE SURE TO REST THE STEAM after each cycle
so 1 min of steam 1 min rest. This gives the heat and moisture a chance to work without causing more issues. On the wider heels and glued on cheeks you can loosen the entire neck block and top if your over work it.
so here is the process Steam wiggle steam wiggle sip coffee
steam wiggle wipe etc.

Re: 12 string guild with a loose neck block.
from all the steam and time involved you can expect some of the connected joints to loosed. Here the fretboard released a bit so I clamped it overnight.
I will do some finish touch ups later.
hope you can see my block pulling method to get the top back up into position
