Gibson 1930's era L00

I had 2 30's era L00s in the shop so I documented the bracing . A video is also in the works
The braces are so light and the best I can determine is the braces are almost all .250 by 1/2 in high but taper from the .250 to thinner as they were radiused.
all top braces are radiused to about a 25 to 30 ft radius. I am sure that 100 years of stress it may not be possible to know 100% for sure what there were.
I have had 3 individual pieces in my shop and while there was some variation , I attribute that to being hand made.

Hey Tippie, thanks for sharing that. Love hearing about those featherlight braces on the old L-00s... they really knew how to squeeze out every bit of tone back then. I’ve been experimenting with lighter bracing too on a small-bodied build. Not quite 1930s-vibe but definitely chasing that dry, punchy voice.

Curious to see your tracing when it's up. I’ve got a few bracing blanks waiting on the bench from a recent restock and your notes might nudge me in the right direction.
