Gurian Guitar
got one in for a reset. I will be doing a video on it but here is the nutshell
they used the Cupiano joint with 2 tapered pins. Froggy Bottom also used these. The joint is strong
but can be tricky.
In the photos you can see the basic design. I used a nipper to try and get the one pin out , it broke then my 6 in hemostat did the trick

Re: Gurian Guitar
the Dummy neck block is set up so when I make the angle adjustment I can plug and drill the new hole position. They used a 3 degree taper

Re: Gurian Guitar
You must have had the back off to have access to the side of the neck block where the pins went through?

Re: Gurian Guitar
This is the method described in the Cumpiano and Natelson book (at least the edition I have), and they say they learned it from Gurian. More recently, Cumpiano has changed to a bolted mortise and tenon neck joint. I've wondered how it would be to work on one of these, and I know of several Gurians near me, so I am watching this with interest. Bruce W.

I have that book and remember reading it when I first started building and thinking "how cumbersome that tenon with pins would be to deal with later!" Interesting system but crazy

Re: Gurian Guitar
Found you on FB.
I get it now. Got the pins out working through the soundhole. Nice work.
