Good evening all,

New to the board here, with guitar no. 2 in progress.
No. 1 was a StewMac dreadnought for my son's HS graduation eight years ago.
No. 2 is a beautiful D35 from John at Blues Creek. This one is for a dear friend who is re-fighting cancer after 14 years.
Progress is plodding along with rims glued and kerfed linings installed. Just started bracing the top this evening.
My first experience with a home-built gobar deck - much better than clamps!
Have found the forum to be full of a lot of good information. John has been patient as a saint with my incessant questions as I reacquaint myself with the process.
Best to all.

George

Welcome... It is a nice thing you are doing for your friend. There is just something transcending about a hand built guitar... Something that needs to be experienced, that words fall short to explain. The people here on this forum are wonderful. Best, most helpful group of people I have come across in a loooonnnggg time. Good luck to you.

Sincerely,
Rich

Thanks guys.

The nice connection to my son's guitar is that the friend was the first one to play it. I'll never forget his face when the first strings were strummed.

Over the years I thought "I'd like to make Bill a guitar someday". His recurrence was a shout that someday is now.

we are all here to help.
Time may be forever but our time is fleeting. Enjoy the day as tomorrow never comes and yesterday is but a memory.
