Hey people New York here

Just wanted say hi ..
Im atom a new member on the forum I m in new york and am very excited to start building my first guitar.
Im happy to have found this site as it seems you all have a wealth of knowledge and seem to be very friendly group.
Im looking to build my first guitar and am starting my research of my project I dont expect to get started for a few months and am not looking for a speedily built guitar.
I have some tools already but will likely be purchasing a few more as i have been reading some of threads.
Seems like its a lot of fun and very addicting.
Im in the alarm business and have restored a car and boat myself (Im handy is what im saying)
I havent worked with wood in a long time (shop class high school...yikes what am i thinking) Im a bit older and ready to take my plunge..
I havent picked a kit or materials a book or dvd yet.
So Im open to suggestions and encouragement..
