Hello all,
I love everything about guitars; right now I am most comfortable in no knowing how to play one very well, but i am learning. I love working with wood and am about to begin the challenge of building. I have been reading this forum for a while and finally decided to purchase some beginning items and join the forum. I look forward to conversing with you all and learning a lot, as i have seen others do over the last few months.

This place is a great resource. While you'll have frustrations along the way it's great fun. Welcome.

It is a great forum; I have read many of the topics, and find the degree of assistance provided to new builders the best I have seen anywhere. There is a very diverse collection of personalities here, which I have found only makes for a more relaxing environment. Perhaps I can start building nice guitars, rather than buying them

Welcome Henry. Have you decided what you want to build for your first yet?

Brian,
I have ordered wood for Mohagany Dreadnaughts, so far. I really am interested in a walnut set of back and sides and neck blank; but I guess that will come later. I think, at some point, I want to build a straight-braced Mahogany Dread, to be similiar to the Martin D-18, before the 2012 changes.
John,
I watch your youtube videos frequently and really enjoy the flow of information in them. I actually intended to order one of your videos, but forgot to.

glad you like the you tube vids. You can see I gained some weight from the first one. I think I gained it 12 oz at a time

John,
I have done a few 12 oz curls too. Bud light has 8 oz cans now...I can slam one down now, like the big boys lol.
The items I ordered from Stew-Mac shipped Friday; I cant wait to start looking at them every time I walk past the tools and such ;-). The wood sets should have ample time to climatize as the humidity continues dropping around here. Thankfully I have a nice HD-28 to keep my fingers sore while I wait lol
