Hi all,
Rick from South Dakota here.
Lurker for quite awhile.
I work in the Orthodontic field.
Have been playing guitar for fortysome years,
most all of it electric . Played semi-pro for about thirty.
No gigs anymore, quiet time.
I have an Ovation LX1778,Guild DV-6
and a Yamaha FG Jr. for acoustics and still have several electrics
as well as amps.
I'm interested in building a 000 12 fret with rosewood/spruce.Those seem to be the tonewoods I prefer at this point.
There is an older gentleman about thirty miles from me
that builds guitars, mandolins etc that I visited this past spring. He builds from scratch.
I haven't approaced him yet on mentoring.
I am also not opposed to trying a kit.
I've learned a lot from this forum already and will continue to do so.
I know as I get started I can depend upon the resouces available here.
Thanks
Rick

Welcome!

Can't beat that wood combination for a first guitar and having someone close to bounce a question off in person once in a while will be helpful.

Hey Rick. Welcome
Go with a kit first. It is still plenty difficult, and you will learn alot. Click on Blues Creek Guitars and check in with John on a kit, he will fix you up.
