Is this wood Makore?

I was given 2 large boards of this unidentified quarter sawn wood many years ago and used a lot of it for drawer construction. It polished to a beautiful colour and now Ive got interested in Lutherie I’m wondering if the back and sides set I’ve got left are a good tonewood?

The closest match I can find is Makore, but hard to be sure. Its very difficult to bend. The sample in the pic has 2 coats of sanding sealer. Thanks, Dave

Hard to tell with one shot of one board, but I have to agree it looks like mahogany

Mahogany, unless it's super orange. If it's very orange, it's padauk.
