my first shot with Hot Hide glue

I taught a class this week and Charlie Mason built a Dred cutaway , I made a 1937 D 28 . I used Hot Hide glue. Here are what they look like in the white . The D28 is BRW with Red , herringbone and zigzag made to period 5/16 scallop bracing. Blows out a match at 10 inches. The D cutaway is EIR with bear claw . Also 5/16 bracing scalloped. Can't wait to get them shiney .

I'm making my next one with hide glue. Just bought the glue and pot today. Probably start in about 4 weeks.

It is a pain to work . I do like that you can reglue it . I am using fish glue on the neck on . A good secret is the brush to applicate the glue . I figure a few to practice . It is not a forgiving glue to work with .

Cool John. I haven't played with HHG, but have been toying with it for some time. May start by gluing bridges on it.
