How do you all cut your nut slots so that they fit good? I put mine on, drew a line, and looked at the complex angle and had to stop since holding a razor saw against it would make it just a little too wide. Thanks for all the help!

I use the decimal nut files from LMI. Also think of the bottom of the nut slot as a roller not a ramp

Thanks for the quick reply John. I think I asked wrong though. I'm asking about cutting the veneer back. I have the files for the string slots. But, since it is a kit, the headstock veneer is already on so I can't angle it like you did in your video.

Ohhhaky
Here is what I do.
I take a piece of wood with a matching angle to my headstock. I use that like a fence and cut with the razor saw. I allow to make the nut slot about .225 thick to allow some finesse of the nut when I install that. I want the nut to fit but not tight I want to allow room so if I have to take it out I would blow out the finish.

Wow....so simple, and yet it makes so much sense. Not sure why I didn't think about that! Thanks John.
