Below is a link to a Q&A in a William Cumpiano newsletter. The first (Beginner's Mind) and second (Perfection) sections contain advice, opinions and suggestions that are appropriate in light of recent KGF discussion.

That link certainly contains some good advice! When I look at my work compared to my good factory built guitars I get so frustrated with myself and think my work should look perfect. I always seem to forget there is a never ending learning curve to this craft. I try to remind myself that I will make mistakes, but as long as I improve I'm going in the right direction! Good read for sure, thanks for sharing that with us!

In all honesty , I built 14 guitars in my first year. What I learned on them is , you either get better , or you keep making the same mistakes. The better you get at this , the more you learn what is important and what is close enough. The longer I do it the more I learn I have more to learn.

If you are passionate about it , you are on the right track, enjoy it , and know that when you are gone , you left something for someone else to enjoy.
