Hello forum, I'm on my first a kit a maple/Adirondack 14 fret dred from Blues Creek Guitars. And the truss rod only reaches to the inside of the neck block do I just leave it there and use a long wrench to adjust it or do I move it until it reaches through the truss rod brace :? Thank You

use a long wrench the truss rod is designed to be in the neck
you will be fine
I use a ball end allen wrench and you can get one for a 1/4 in drive socket set

Hello Loren.
The truss rod does not get "glued in" per say, it is more "held in place"... to do it's job it has to float in the channel. I used a dab of flexible caulk near both ends of the truss rod and one in the middle, not interfering with the operation of the rod. I hope this helps. I am sure you will get more answers and possibly better ideas because if you haven't figured it out yet, the luthiers on this site are second to none and will gladly share all they know. Good luck.

Sincerely,
Rich

as stated on the glue
I just lay in a bead of tite bond that is it when I glue on the fret board

I've been using Epoxy to glue the TR in place. Laying a bead down the whole channel. Titebond for gluing on the fretboard...

The recommendation that I followed was to put a dab of something like silicone caulk at each end and one in the middle. The middle dab especially is supposed to keep the rod from buzzing or rattling when you play.

on the martin 2 way epoxy is not the suggested glue. There is a shrink wrap and you only need a filler. Silicone ,tite bone and yes epoxy can work but I have been using tite bond for years. As long as the rod doesn't rattle , that is all that matters

The glue or silicone could be considered "insurance against rattling. I know one very long time luthier that uses nothing and says he has never had an issue with it yet but that it would only take one time for him to possibly reconsider. He's still waiting for that one time.
