I just finished wiping down my guitar's tru oil finish with lemon oil (which looks great by the way!) But it occurred to me that the person getting this guitar may want to put a pickguard on it some day. I'm assuming that one of those 3M pickguard sheets or the backing on a pre-made guard won't stick to the finish.
Am I wrong? and if I'm not how would I go about attaching a pickguard over this type of finish?

Windex to remove the lemon oil then just slap the pick guard on. Carefully.
