Greetings!

Up to now I have been using the StewMac "hot rod in my guitar construction. I thought I'd save a few bucks and bought The H3086 Truss rod from Grizzly. It's quite different, but I thought, "Awww, I can figure it out!"

Hmm... Uhh... Has anyone had experience with this type of truss rod in their acoustic guitars? It can be seen here:

I think it's similar to the Martin type one way rods.

Hey, thanks for the responses! The problem I find is that this type protrudes further into the body of the guitar than the hotrod. It seems, then, that the neck block will have to be dealt with differently... ??

They ar made by gotoh, which I thought also made Martins? I know LMI sells the Gotoh rods.

Martin didn't use Gotoh truss rods Grizzly used 2 different types . They worked but there are better ones out there. The truss rod the martin used today is a good one. The silver solder on the small ones if not done well will change the metals properties making them very brittle .
