What is going on in your shop?

Hi Guys,
What's going on in your shop this week?
Here is what I am working on. I have 4 guitars in different phases of construction right now:

Love the smell of Mad RW when being scraped!

I am not sure I could do four guitars at once, I still have trouble mentally keeping track of one. Do you make guitars full time?
I pulled the neck on my second guitar, a kit I got from Blues Creek as I had mucked up the neck set a little. It is a great sounding D28 with really nice wood so it is worth getting right now the my skills are a bit better. While I was at it I stripped the finish. This weekend I put some shims on the dovetail and reset the neck. When the dovetail is engaged it feels like I could string it up without glue. I am also putting a new coat of zpoxy on the back and sides as I start the refinish.

Hi John,
No, I am an amateur. I like to have several going at a time only because i get to repeat procedures more often that way. plus, when I have something glued up, I can go do something on another guitar if I have the time. I am in no rush, and under no time limits. When i had to bend the sides to my next guitar, I figures I would bend 4 sets at a time, and just put them in the mold. I actually like building 2 at a time, but I have the other 2 in the background and will do something every so often to them :-).

I have this J-45 style going out the door real soon, a 000 sitka/hog ready to bind, 00-18 style ready to bend and 2 electric setups (one of which I have to intonate the g string at the nut).

Nothing! I am real sorry to answer... Nothing! Not a thing going is going on in my shop. It is sitting idle, cob webs are starting to form... I am hopefully going to get a solid body kit in there real soon. Funding and life happenings are in the way of guitar building pleasure and progress. I was going to take a picture but it is just too depressing... I am still here though... Thanks and keep up all the good work.

Everyone is busy - I haven't seen this many posts in one day in a while.
I am in the middle of my third - a Nick Lucas special with a hand applied sunburst. I can start leveling the varnish in about 4-5 days

Very nice! I want to do a hand rubbed sunburst on one of the guitars I am building, an L-00/Nick Lucas. I would be VERY interested in:
- What did you use for the sunburst wrt materials?
- How did you apply it?
- What varnish did you use?
Any info would be greatly appreciated!
