That second video was excellent in that many don't understand those 3 positions and what they do to the guitar (or I should say should do).

So the rear shifted X still maintains the same X-brace angle?

There are a few changes over time of the X brace angle.
They ranged from 99 to about 95 degrees. The wider was used on the old vintage instrument. After about 1939 they changed to the 95 degree. This was the best info I have seen on this subject and wanted to share.

The first video I'm seen before, the second I had not. Very well explained, and something I will probably experiment with.
Thanks for posting John.

So if I'm understanding you correctly, on the modern artists series that uses the rear shifted bracing they are still using a 95 deg X brace angle?
Here is where I wish that sound could be described/conveyed more accurately. I wonder how the description "focused" differs from the description "tight" when describing the sound produced by the rear shifted X brace.......
Here is another link to show the top braces in real life

I am about to start my guitar kit. The first step is to glue the braces down. I have the gobar deck now but I don't have the radius sanding dish. I cannot glue the braces on the bare gobar deck correct? Or it will be flat?

you can use a fanned out stack of cards. That will get you close.
