This is not a joke...

Post by Ben-Had »

a guy I'm helping build his kit had a bird fly into the garage and poop on the top. He didn't find it until a while later and it may have soaked in. The guitar has a laminate top. Any ideas on how to clean it up/bleach it out?

Did it leave a grease stain when the fecal matter was removed? If it's not too bad or deep maybe it could be extracted with alcohol or naptha. Hindsight is 20-20, of course, but strange incidents like these are a good reason to give the top a wash coat of shellac until you're ready to final sand and finish.
