Hi Forum, I am about to glue up the neck block and tail block to the sides of my LMI OM. The mortise and tenon neck joint is a perfect fit at the moment...when the neck block is glued to the sides there will be a gap at the bottom of the joint, equal to the thickness of the sides...my question is do I need to shave 2.5mm off the front face of the neck block( ie the Mortise) so that the mortise and tenon joint is tight again when the neck is bolted on?
Regards Mark

Re: LMI Bolt on Neck gap
As long as the sides of the neck are tight to the guitar the gap at the bottom of the joint is actually needed.. You don't want the neck to bottom out on the neck block.
