John, or anyone who's worked with these, I bought a martin kit from a couple who couldn't work on it. I finally finished, but the neck angle of the dovetail is not moving for me at all.
I set the neck almost all the way in the dovetail, and pulled strips of sanding paper, trying to keep pressure at the bottom of the neck near the heel, but no luck.
I finally layed tape across the neck at the point where it contacts the body, and had just a bit of neck showing at the bottom to zero at the top. Then I chiseled and sanded to create the angle.
But all along my angle has not moved off of zero.
I took some of the tenon off at the top, and still no luck.
Right now the top of my neck is at the same level as the top of the guitar. If I need to, I can put in shims to make it ride higher.
The fingerboard is not on the neck.
Any suggestions? Where could I be hanging up?
John, I've been watching your video on this, but seem to be missing something.

the setting isn't that hard but you need to work the basics. Don't be afraid to shim if you have to.

When you really think about it, all necks will need some kind of setting, so other than the method of attachment to the neck block this would work on M&T.
Concentrate on that angle, then the center line .
